Season of storms and mellow aromas

Of all of the seasons I find that Autumn is the most aromatic

A blend of scents enliven every walk, caramels and cinnamons from the sugars of decaying leaves blend with the earthy musk of fungi and petrichor of the wet earth, sometimes there is a citrus top note tang from fermenting fallen fruit

To catch aromas best you need still and warm weather but autumn is also increasingly a season of storms. These mark a period of transition from warm to colder weather. because of uneven cooling on land and sea pressure differences build up bringing heavy winds and rain.

Hopefully it will calm down soon so we can enjoy the leaf fall and the scents
